“Mercury definitely causes problems for wild songbirds,” Cristol said.
Mercury is considered one of the world’s most dangerous and
widespread toxicants, and its emissions are increasing in many areas in
lockstep with the rise of coal-burning power plants in Asia, gold
mining, and waste incinerators.
