Liberia: U.S. Raises Eyebrows on Liberia's Human Rights Record

Speaking Friday at the YMCA in Monrovia at the launch of Rural Human Rights Activists Programme, Brazernor said mining communities here are often neglected not only in terms of human rights, but investment and environmental degradation................
She said the mining sector here is a growing sector with infinite possibilities of wealth for Liberia, gold, diamonds, and iron ore, and among others but mining companies and the Liberian Government must be held accountable for where the money is, and make sure the mining communities are informed and included in the decision of those sectors.
