Curb on small-scale mining to weaken Ghana's diamond, gold output

Small-scale mining had helped push the country’s mining production last year. 
"We anticipate at least a 50% drop in production from the small miners," deputy minister of land and mines Barbara Oteng-Gyasi was quoted as saying. 
"We are trying to control illegal mining which is not good for the environment."
