The Environmental Protection Agency Sierra Leone (EPA-SL) in collaboration with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) has commenced a two day workshop on Minamata Initial assessment and National Action for Artisanal Gold Mining at the Sierra Light House Aberdeen in Freetown.
The objective of the workshop is to raise awareness of policy makers and the public on mercury menace and the environmental and health concern and the need for national action plan to address it.
