Sometimes, that backbreaking process undergone by the impoverished miner whose life was already offered to the gods of gold, for what little such an act of sacrifice can offer, could only produce a speck of gold so tiny that it is almost invisible. But looking at the mud-smudge, thin face of the gold miner focusing on the last process of blowtorching the liquid mercury-laced gold nuggets on a palm-size bronze dish where it undergoes the purification, one can see the hopes, the life-size dreams and the aspiration that fueled their efforts, all written on their expectant faces.
