Mercury contamination still a major challenge for Guyana – new study

A recently released study conducted by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) has shown that Guyana still faces a challenge in reducing the use of mercury in small-scale gold mining related activities and dealing with the effects of such.
The WWF released a new report collating all available data on small-scale gold mining related mercury contamination across the Guianas.
