The Ministry of Mines and Steel Development said on Friday that the Federal Government had trained more than 3,000 artisanal and small scale miners on mining techniques and mineral processing.
Ojeka said that 200 mining cooperatives had benefited 50,000 dollars each and the grant had assisted the ministry in the formalisation of many illegal miners into mining cooperatives.
The acting director said certified mining cooperatives annually participated in capacity building on extension service, to ensure safe mining operations.
