Amazon: minors working in illegal extraction of gold in rivers

The regional director of energy and mines of Amazonas, Roger Ramos Rodríguez, revealed that in Condorcanqui even detected Ecuadorian illegal miners.
With respect to the presence of minors, the official said that in the town of Imaza children help their parents to find the metal. "For the moment, not we have arrived in the area to see if they are exposed to inputs such as mercury, which is used to separate particles of ore", he said.
