on the other hand acknowledged forming youth groups to
campaign for sound mining practices and less destructive
methods. However, it was revealed that due to little or no
collaboration between mining institutions and traditional
leaders, the efforts of traditional leaders and community
members created little impact on sound mining practices.

using mercury and other chemicals that pose threat to
