Stopping that illegal and immoral capital flight is the goal of EITI, which was formed in 2003 to track what companies pay in taxes and royalties and independently verify, compare and reconcile that with what revenues governments disclose.
EITI now has 23 compliant countries whose combined mining, oil and gas revenues total $1.05 trillion. DRC is not one of them. It was suspended earlier this year.

Canada isn't a compliant country either. It financially supports EITI, but it doesn't require companies to meet the EITI standard.
