Monday's ruling to halt construction at the Pascua-Lama gold mine in northern Chile does not go far enough, say the indigenous group that filed a lawsuit against the world’s top gold miner over environmental violations.
“What is optimal, in our opinion, is for the project to present a new environmental impact assessment,” lawyer Lorenzo Soto, who represents the Diaguita community, told Reuters on Thursday.
