The heavy metal concentrations exceeded Canadian standards. Arsenic and cyanide were also found.
"The levels we have observed particularly of cynaide in fish are killing people and will continue to kill people until something is done," said the report's co-author, Chris Covel.
Owner's of the nearby mine say it meets the province's environmental standards. A provincial investigation into the sick fish is continuing.
"We know the big part of it of the trouble is because of the mine," said Natalie Cadoc of Fish & Wildlife. "But what is it exactly?"
Miascum Cooper wants all the Cree to be tested for poisoning and the government to pay for the cleanup.
