Natural Resources and Environment Minister, Robert Persaud deemed as “abominable” the disruption of potable water supply as a result of pollution of the waterway. “There are a number of recommendations that emanated one of which is that those operations that are felt to be interfering or in a way contaminating the water supply by poor tailings management- those will be shut off and will be focused on improving tailings management in this regard,” he said.
