Three Workers Killed In Peru Mining Protests

Protests were also staged by mining federations in the regions of Arequipa and Apurimac. Virtually every day since March 15, there have been reports of informal miners blocking roads and clashing with police. President Humala’s government is confronting more than 200 social conflicts in all corners of the country, the majority of which have to do with mining and the environment.
