Large mineral deposits like gold, copper, chromite, magnetite sand, nickel, limestone, rock asphalt, bauxite, iron, cobalt, dolomite, manganese, limestone, and coal, among others have turned the region into a potential area for mining investment with large scale mining operators.
Accordingly, Mines and Geosciences Bureau in the region will strictly monitor mining applications to maintain balance between “mining developments and environmental protection.”
