The anti-mining sentiment has grown exponentially in the past couple of weeks, in part due to the March 5 signing of the accord with Chinese-owned Ecuacorriente that gives them the green light to begin opening the Mirador massive open-pit copper mine in Ecuador’s mountainous Amazon region. The project is riddled with irregularities and illegalities, poorly-made environmental studies, and represents a great danger to the environment and people’s lives, according to a recently released study by E-tech International
