DENR Mulls Banning Mercury In Kalinga Small–Scale Mining

In its pursuit to protect the environment, the provincial government through its Environment and Natural Resources Office (ENRO) is moving to ban mercury use in gold recovery process. 
The province’s involvement became formal during the recently held artisanal small scale gold mining (ASGM) first national summit where Kalinga was identified as a member of the seven most important provinces in the country involved in artisanal small scale mining.
