These challenges, the Minister observed, would lead to the use of unsustainable mining methods to exploit gold and the non-observance of environmental regulations which invariably lead to environmental degradation.
He assured that Government is committed to enacting policies to develop the small-scale mining industry to become as efficient as the large scale counterparts.
