Cost Of GHG Pollution Could Lead To Shift In Mining, Mineral processing

there is the possibility that big international mining companies will have to give greater consideration to the cost of pollu- tion before they invest in developing a new orebody into a mine. In the long term, it is possible that international mining trends can be increasingly influenced by the energy associated with mining activities. Energy could then act as a meta-indicator for pollution rates.
