Residents in Mt. Labo stormed the other day the office of Mt. Labo Exploration and Development Corp., a mining firm being opposed to operate in the area for contaminating their river and creeks.
EMB regional director Eva Ocfemia said the closure order stemmed from the complaints of local fisher folks in the area that tailings from waster ponds have contaminated the Tugos creek and Malaguit river, both fishing grounds.
