At least 37 gold miners in this municipality have been tested for toxic levels over their exposure to mercury.
Dr. Judy Lacar, of the Department of Health Kalinga, said the Pasil was piloting the assessment for artisanal miners in the province to gauge the risks of heavy metal poisoning in partnership with Ban Toxics, a non-government organization advocating the stop to using mercury in the mining sector.
