Papua New Guinea's Prime Minister Peter O'Neill has
warned that a court decision against operators of the Ok Tedi mine could
have "massive" consequences for landowners and the country.
Last
week, a court ordered the company to stop dumping waste into the nearby
Fly River and tributaries in the Western Province, citing environmental
concerns. The order could see the giant gold and copper mine grind to a halt.
