State Violence And Murder Of Indigenous Who Oppose Canadian Mining In Panama

The Ngobe people of Panama, along with supporters in solidarity, have been holding multiple roadblocks to protest the opening of their lands to mining interests with blockades since January 2011. In recent weeks there have been arrests of indigenous people and environmental activists and teachers in solidarity in various sites across the country, as well as numerous injuries and murder at the hands of the Panamanian government. Journalists and human rights organizations are being denied access to the area
